Roles & Permissions
Control which Discord roles can use which categories of bot commands and features.

Overview
Roles & Permissions is a fine-grained, per-command-category gating layer that controls what a Discord role can do with the bot. It is separate from Staff Access, which controls who can open the dashboard.
Each role can be granted access to any combination of command categories: Moderation, Auto-moderation, Leveling, Welcome, Reaction Roles, and Utility. The Admin role's bot access is always locked to everything, mirroring how it implicitly can do anything in Discord itself.
Moderation and Auto-moderation are treated as essential categories. Every server needs at least one role able to run them, since removing the last role's access would leave the server unable to moderate itself via the bot at all.
Setup
- 1
Open Roles & Permissions
Navigate to Settings > Roles & Permissions from the dashboard.
- 2
Review the default matrix
Check the default matrix. Admin gets everything, Moderator/Staff get most categories, Trusted Member gets a lighter set, and the base Member role gets just Leveling and Utility.
- 3
Adjust per role
Toggle individual command categories on or off for any non-Admin role to match how your server actually delegates bot access.
- 4
Keep essential categories covered
Make sure at least one role retains access to Moderation and Auto-moderation at all times.
Configuration options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
Command Categories per Role | Which of Moderation, Auto-moderation, Leveling, Welcome, Reaction Roles, and Utility a given role can use with the bot. |
Admin Lock Default: Always full access | The Admin role's bot command access is always set to every category and cannot be reduced, mirroring Discord's own Administrator permission. |
Essential Categories | Moderation and Auto-moderation are flagged as essential. The UI prevents removing the last role with access to them. |
Permissions
